Beautiful. Laughter always finds us in the most unexpected and sometimes absurdly morbid places. After my dad died suddenly in a car accident when I was a teen, I remember my mom and I busting our guts when we pondered what his first “thought” might’ve been after he died. Our best conclusion was, “Whoops, I died.” Something about that statement just broke us into fits for years.

Lovely! There’s something about the connection that humour makes, isn’t there? Like no other. Thank you for sharing this moment with us.

i love how this photo captures the beautiful bond between mother and daughter and reminds us that love and laughter can find a place even in the midst of such a thing called "cancer." thank you, Emma, for bringing your healing story to life with words and pictures that capture the essence of how it feels to navigate one of life's most intensely difficult times us humans may be called upon to face - with a brave heart, fierce love and a fine sense of humor to match.

Such a good reminder that joy and despair sit side by side, no matter what our life circumstances... and what a great photo 😊
